Students are tasked with designing and creating a lantern for the annual community Iftar meal. Students used 2D Design to laser-cut intricate cutouts inspired by Islamic geometric patterns. Using a line bender, they shaped acrylic side pieces around Plywood or MDF bases. Students practice using a pillar drill and a Forstner bit to create a hole to secure the candle.

This project focused on equipping students with practical techniques in planning, measuring, sawing, and drilling to create a functional lantern that is also aesthetically pleasing.
